Operation Christmas Child

Dear Operation Christmas Child friends and supporters,

Firstly, I do hope you and your family are all keeping safe and well, and as 'happy' as you can be in the circumstances.

The uk-wide, and global, shoebox statistics from last year's Operation Christmas Child project can be found on the Occ website, but just in case you hadn't previously seen them I can relay to you here the figures from our local Liverpool warehouse catchment area, which pretty much stretches from Preston down through Merseyside, the Wirral, Warrington, and some parts of Cheshire.  You directly contributed to these, so thank you for your involvement. From Liverpool warehouse in 2019 we had 830 cartons with 7959 boxes go to Liberia, 535 cartons of 4024 boxes went to Bosnia, 971 cartons with 9474 boxes went to Moldova, and 319 cartons with 2267 boxes were sent to Albania.
For 2020, notwithstanding the disruption to normal life we're presently experiencing, the OCC shoebox project will no doubt take place once again later this year.  What format it'll take in our local area remains to be seen, so please await further information as the months go by.
I myself won't be directly involved in the running of the OCC project locally this time around. After an unbroken run of several years acting as the Liverpool warehouse shoebox "Collections Co-ordinator" I have now 'retired' from that role.During my annual seasons of hiring the vans, organising their visits to churches, schools and other donors, and 'bossing the volunteer driver team about', I've engaged with dozens of wonderful organisations and individual folk.  I thank you all sincerely for your enthusiasm for OCC and for being so friendly, supportive, and helpful to me personally.
Sending you my very kindest regards.Stay safe!

Peter G.
